"Ad-hoc Filters" help users to filter a SmartView on-the-fly. They differ from "Filter Criteria" defined when creating/editing a SmartView as follows:

"Ad-hoc Filters" applied by one user do *not* impact other users. |
"Filter Criteria" defined for a SmartView impact all users. |
Any user with "Read" privileges for a SmartView can apply "Ad-hoc Filters." |
Only the owners of a SmartView can apply/modify "Filter Criteria." |
How do I use "Ad-hoc Filters"?
- Go to a SmartView page.
- Click "Ad-hoc Filter" link directly above the table.
- Define desired filter criteria for the "Ad-hoc Filter."
- Click "Apply Filter" button within the "Ad-hoc Filter" section to apply the ad-hoc filter criteria.
- Page will reload and will display only those records that meet the "Ad-hoc Filter" criteria *plus* the "Filter Criteria" defined when the SmartView was created.
- At any time, you can click "Remove Filter" button within the "Ad-hoc Filter" section to remove the "Ad-hoc Filter" criteria.
